Observation details

Observed with various binocs and scopes at distances down to 75m downstream from the Coteau Creek Power Station at Gardiner. Female bird: Large, elegant, long-necked duck with comparatively small head. Mottled brown plumage – paler on head and neck; grayish bill. Direct comparison with female MALLs. Fed along east shore of South Sask River and eventually flew off with some male Mallards. New for the WBL!
