NOTES: (Sound: Frequent. Breeding Status: Territorial. General Climate: Cyclic wet-dry. Cov. Density: Open. Strata: Song perch. Parabola: plastic 24") BP-2 in cut position. [Eleven songs and song fragments by the close bird, all essentially of the same song-type (the same type and presumably the same bird highlighted in LNS #77220). The song at 1:33 appears to lack the introduction common to the remaining songs. A second bird is singing in the background, initially giving songs similar to those of the bird in the foreground (e.g., song at 1:12), but switching song-types at 1:24. There is a "Buzz" Call at 0:41, but it is unclear whether this was given by the individual that was highlighted or the bird singing in the background. I am unsure which species that gave two-note call at 1:31, but it is unlike anything described in BNA account, and was suggested by Dr. Jean L. Woods (Delaware Mus. Nat. Hist.) to have been given instead by Agelaius phoeniceus. I further suspect the "check" calls (e.g., 0:32-0:37) were given by Agelaius phoeniceus. Quality changed from 2 to 2-1, 2 (best before 1:12) - CAM - 7 October 2005]. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Grassland, Rural, Field.
