Observation details
This woodpecker was lower in elevation than the usual ones I see on Mt Ord (I start seeing them at FR1688 where the ponderosas are). This was just uphill a bit from the green iron corrall. It also seemed smaller than typical Hairy woodpeckers. Somewhat distant photos. You can do some size comparisons between the photo with the LBWO on the agave branch and this bird and they are almost the same size (using the agave bloom as a base). LBWO~=DOWO 30gm; HAWO=66gm (more than 2x ths size) I will do photo searches and try to figure this out (Downy vs Hairy).
