NOTES: (Bkground sounds: Xiphorhynchus guttatus (long call); Formicarius analis (call). Sound or Soc. Contact: Infrequent. Breed. Status: Territorial. Climate: Humid; Cyclic Wet-Dry. Cov. Density: Med; Thick. Weather: Overcast?) Tape turned on at 17:47 following this bird's third song. Recorded from large tree 30-50 m. west of Trail C, 630 m., on trail to macaw nest box. Apparently two birds counter-singing, the close bird stopped singing well before the more distant bird (17:52), or it moved away 100 m. further (to the south). Distant bird sang until 17:55. contains about 19 relatively close songs in addition to two or three more distant ones. This cut also contains two X. guttatus long calls and three short calls. Other Behaviors: Dusk Song, Counter Singing, Roost, Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
