Observation details
I birded the dunes from 6:30 to 8:00 without refinding the skylark. Then at 8:00 I made one last pass and saw the bird fly up calling. It circled for a minute or so, affording good views, and then landed. We walked back up towards where it had landed and accidentally flushed it, at which point it flew a short ways and landed nearby. At this point I immediately left it alone as to not harass the bird. Epic find by Russ Namitz and thanks to Adrian Hinkle for seeing the photos and identifying it as a skylark/getting the word out late last night in time for a chase! Lifer. Sadly this bird was not seen after this afternoon; may have been scared off by so many people.
