NOTES: (Range Status: Normal, highly endangered.) HPF 220 Hz. Calls of pair as they forage, also an interaction with several individuals (c6+) where they sound very similar to the interactions of Z. olivaceus on Reunion. These were distant but can be heard, uttering the "rattle" and "tinkle" calls with warbled phrases as is heard in olivaceus. (We moved upnearer but the river defeats us!!) They interact also with Z.b. mauritanius. There are such interactions on this cut (river loud) where they chase and supplant Z.b. mauritanius when it's feeding. The "buzz" note is heard after "playback." Field annotations included. Other Behaviors: Advertise.
