Observation details
As we approached the intersection a swallow crossed in front of our car. I had been reading of recently reported CASW and because of the late date any Swallow would be of interest. We watched it circle the intersection and over the cornfield for forty minutes. At one point it landed briefly on the lines and I photographed it. Stout little Swallow with square tail. Appeared to be adult bird with orange forehead and throat dark head cap and through the eye. After Bill K arrived we noticed a second bird. This Swallow appeared to be a juvenile because it was lighter through the throat and across the forehead. In general the juvenile bird was lighter across the back as well. Both birds seen simultaneously.
