Observation details
A male CAFI was foraging on the ground with a mixed flock of LEGO, WCSP, CHSP, WEBL and YRWA. This is an invasion fall for this species. Bright rosy cap, pink breast, dark brown auricular tinged with pink, light pink supercilliary, white eye arcs, pinkish gray nape, throat and lower sides of face pink, whitish belly and flanks with sparse blurry streaks, undertail coverts white and without streaks. Back pink-tinged brown with short black streaks, wing feathers dark brown broadly edged with light brown. Primary extension very long. Bill sharp and conical, slight curvature to the culmen, but less than Purple and much less than House, also longer than those species.
