NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut #3. Bulk reel #525 Time: 7:15 AM - 7:45 AM. This was my first experience with the song of this form and precedes Cut 2 in time. 139 tape. Std. a) Natural song by first birds. (White breasts, rather narrow white crown.) (Song by S. minuta is mixed in at places.) Quality: 2. Level: 0, +3. Bird in small tree by side of road and in middle of growth, not on top of tree. It sseems more like "self-song." b) Several birds heard singing; seems definitely "self-song." It was after this that I set up to record with N-III, obtaining recording of Cut 2). Quality: 2-. Level: +3. This is some 200 m. away from a). While one of these birds (white breast, fairly broad crown patch) was in full view, I played the tape loop of bouvronides song (orig. recorded in Boqueron region) and the lineola paid not the slightest attention to it. Later I played the just recorded Cut 2 of lineola and birds did not react to it either.
