NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut #2. Bulk reel #525 139 tape. Std. 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM. Natural song and calls. (Bird has white crown.) Quality: 1-. Level: +3. A second bird heard in background, especially in the latter part. (At one time I heard three different birds singing simultaneously, all the same song.) Different bird (broad white crown), calls only; it had been singing before I began to record but flew without singing again. Quality: 1-2. Level: +3. Some 30 m. away and probably a different bird; natural song. Quality: 1. Level: +3. Some 30 m. away and probably a different bird (fairly broad white crown); natural song. Quality: 1. Level: +3. Re: the three birds mentioned, two were across road from each other some 6-8 m. apart and the other was ~ 15 m. down the road. All were inside the tree foliage, i.e. not on top of tree or other exposed perch. Although song is loud, it seems more like self-song than like territorial advertising song.
