NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut #M-8. Bulk reel #496 Weather: High cloudy. Bird #9. Type 2 (2-3). High pitch. Quality: 2. Level: +3. 202 tape. LN. Note the extreme similarity to Bird #8, yet #8 had been collected three days before!! Note: On third call bird "choked-up," apparently in stress due to my whistled imitation. When first heard this bird was well down in second-growth scrub (or in natural growth along a ravine) (this level ~350 m.) near the village of La Sierra(?), apparently attracted by some Clusia growing there. I tried persistent whistling, hoping to call in this bird and also #7 (Cut M-7, b) although they were ca. 200 m. from my position in a small clearing. The latter did not decoy in but #9, after a long period of silence, suddenly surprised me by singing very close by.
