Low noise. 209 tape. 5:50 AM. Still natural dawn song. Quality: "1-2." Level: +3. 7.5 ips. Low noise. After playback - some reaction by bird but not extremely active - dawn song cont. Quality: "1-2." Level: +3. LN. 6:15 AM. Now whistled calls, induced by more playback. These calls have a "sharper" quality than those given under normal conditions. Quality: "2." 7.5 ips. LN. A second bird started to call nearby. I suspect it was this bird's mate but in its "stress" from the playback a conflict app. developed; some of the (bother) vocalizations were recorded. Quality: 3. 7.5 ips. LN. More whistled calls. In the final ~ 2' the calls have a more "natural" quality. (Amazona in this part.) Quality: 2. 7.5 ips. LN. b) 7:00 AM. Weather: Foggy, very windy. More whistled calls (believed to be by same (individual) bird but that is not certain). Quality: 2. Level: +3. 3 3/4 ips. LN & 7.5 ips LN. [For more notes regarding this species, see end of notes in Cat. #69985.].
