Media notes
NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 15. Bulk reel: 431 Weather: Fair. Time: 6:20 to 6:30 AM. Natural song. (Note that when bird faces the recorder, the high frequency elements are louder in proportion to the others.) Also heard Chlorospingus ophthalmicus. Quality: 1. Level: +2. 7.5 ips. 203 tape. LN. The recording continues @ 15 ips without Chlorospingus ophthalmicus and note that the high frequency elements become still louder in propertion to the other elements in the song. (Better frequence response @ 15 ips? or could there have been some interim playback that caused bird to sing the high frequencies louder? NO: note indicates still natural song! Quality: 1. Level: 0. LN. In this section other birds are heard in background: Myadestes ralloides. (Good recording.) (Then cont. with the recording from the following field tape.) 7:15 AM. Song a long time after playback. Quality: 1. Level: 0. 15 ips. LN. (This good recording too, esp. after 1:45, but song not quite as good as in the previous part.) In background is Myadestes ralloides.
