NOTES: Cover density: OPEN; OPEN AREA. NEAR HOUSES. 1) TWO MALES BICKERING (POOR). 2) CHASING AWAY A FLICKER (POOR). 3) PECKING (FAIR). 4) CALLING (VERY GOOD). [This recording has five parts. The first part contains what I believe are the Chatter Calls of BNA (0:045-0:16). Given that the sexes cannot be separated in the field, it is as likely that this was a sexual encounter as a territorial one, as suggested in voice announcement. I suspect the calls in the second part are the Alarm or Territorial Calls of BNA (0:185-0:205; see also LNS #26216 and Figure 3B of account), but they are not really like those in other recordings (maybe they were given by the flicker?) The third part contains only some soft tapping and the fourth and fifth parts together contain 10 examples of the ordinary, "tchur" call of BNA (0:455-1:27). Quality changed from 3-2 to 3-2, 2 (BEST after 0:45) - CAM - 21 April 2005]. Other Behaviors: Bill Drumming.
