NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 3. Bulk reel: 392 Weather: Fair. I had played back a field tape that included songs of this species as well as C. subvinacea. The present species responds immediately. One had been singing in this spot the previous PM and is very likely this same bird. First is regular song @ 7.5". Quality: 2. Level: +5. then cont. @ 15" after playback again Regular song. Then "growls." Quality: 1-2. Level: +5. Sound stimulation was (other): playback C. subvinacea. Response to playback: Normal song.
