NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 8. Bulk reel: 391 Weather: Fair. a) "Purring song." This bird was called in by playback of the prepared field tape. I also tried playback of the song of C. plumbea but the bird didn't seem interested, flew about only when I played C. subvinacea. This individual had a very weak voice. Quality: 2. Level: +5. b) Regular song about 30 minutes later, after bird had "calmed" a bit. (Song of Cercomacra cinerascens is very prominent.) Dove was then collected (male) and is specimen #3. Quality: 2.
