Observation details
After an encounter with two juvenile Sabine's gulls earlier in the morning at Kelly point park I decided to try my luck at this location. Shot in the dark but worth a try. Sure am glad I decided to stick around for a while! As I was packing it up and leaving I got up to the hill and scanned the gullls one last time only to see a very small brownish gull standing next to the other gulls. I have never been this close to a juvenile Sabine's gull and boy was it a treat. I could see its leopard like scaling to its back and grayish sides to the face and neck. Very small dark bill and a forked tail. Long black primaries. Broughton never disappoints!
