NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 88. Bulk reel: 385 Ascending whistles. Bird flew without displaying, apparently to get close to female. At new position: "courtship growls," then the female flew and male made a display flight after her. Immediately preceding the "courtship growls" by the male are some other vocalizations which cease when courtship growls begin, suggesting they may have been given by the male. However, the difference in relative amplitude suggests that these calls were not "in focus" and so may have been given by the female. Both birds were hidden from view by foliage. Note: As all the action was on the (R) channel, it has been re-recorded from N-IVS to N-4.2. 203 tape. Microphone: (L) EV 650, no parabola; (R) Senn 405, 36" parabola. Quality: 2. LN. Other Behaviors: Court.
