NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 59. Bulk reel: 382 First display noted @ 5:35 AM. A few "ao" calls and sound of bird flying (this was by a male that had displayed) for comparing sound normal flight with sound of a display. Then another recording of a flying bird. 5:50 AM - Then another sample: whines by one bird (presumably female) and ascending whistles by male. (Shortly after this one bird, followed by another, planed down to the area of the cecropias.) Quality: 2. Level: 0. Tape: 203. Copy from orig. @ 7.5; filtered 200/6 kHz (due motor noise). General notes made 3/V/70 all serve to confirm the experiences so far recorded and noted. Emphasize male's displays center around a female. Female often gives +/- excited vocal reaction (by stopped up "whine" or other calls) to the display of a (usually her) male. (Apparently as period approaches nesting, female will follow after the male; before that male "follows after" female: this is an impression of mine and should be further observed before being sure of it. 4/V/70 - no activity in the usual place today but much activity up the slope.
