NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 26. Bulk reel: 376 Arrived on site 5:30 AM. First sounds: "ao" calls (quiet) windy @5:34 AM a little below the path. Then bird moved up closer and the courtship period began. Only one display heard today (that recorded). In bird's new position it called "as" for a short while and then no more was heard up to 5:55 AM. Note: There was rain in the Limon-Portachelo ravine and that may have had some effect on the lesser activity. But also this may have been due to the active courtship of this AM. Good for graphing. "Growl courtship" calls with some quiet "conversational" or "love making" whines. Two birds present. Flight sounds, presumably as male follows female. Then "ao" with and after display, the first display of the day--and only one. Quality: 1-2. Level: +8. Other Behaviors: Court.
