NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 18. Bulk reel: 375 While up on the ridge south of camp I could hear activity of all kinds by this species on the ridge and slopes at extreme south as well as up on the upper slopes. This activity began ~ 6:25 AM and included "ao" calls (profuse), courtship grunts (only occasional) and displays (profuse). Some of this is saved here for the record (many birds were to 1 km across the ravine). Aburria aburri also heard. Quality: 3. Level: +7. [The following note is on the same data sheet as cuts 18 and 19, though it does not pertain to those cuts.] Note: 13 Feb 1969 by km 23.5 (Rancho Grande), clear. The only activity observed by this species was one display far up the mountain. There was more in the immediate area which would also include km 25 which is immediately below it. (Weather had been bad for several days previously.).
