NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 6. Bulk reel: 339 Weather: Fair. 175 tape. *This identification is by no means certain. After playback I could see the bird briefly as it flew back and forth and it appeared to be this species, but with such poor views it may just as well have been Hemispingus frontalis or H. reyi, both of which are also in the area. a) Natural dawn song. This is really a continuation of Cut 10 of Hellmayrea [Synallaxis] gularis and that species, as well as Scytalopus latebricola, are heard, too. Quality: 1-2. Level: 0. "b") After playback. Quality: 2 huff, 1. Level: -6, +3. *This was recorded at dawn before Cut 5 and in same place, although that still does not assure the present identification. Recordist note re: Cuts 5 & 6: These cuts probably should have been recorded @ 15 ips.
