Observation details
Coot-like bird with bold white outertail, black central retrices, overall gray color with blue-gray breast, whites-striped flanks, and red beak with yellow tip. Very notable Winter record of this species, an individual that stayed for multiple days and seen by many at this retention basin location. Fed in the open and did not appear shy like they often are during the summer breeding period.
