Observation details
Nova Scotia Birds Vol. 47 No. 2 The gull of the season, of many seasons, was the first-winter IVORY GULL found and photographed by BBU on Sullivans Pond, Dartmouth, Jan. 5. This endearing Arctic stray remained in Halifax Hbr. for more than a month, using a Navy buoy as a night-time roost and commuting, first, to the pond to feed on the carcass of a goose, then becoming habituated to hotdogs and other scraps provided for it by its large audience.
