Observation details
*uncommon migrant | hunting from top of dead tree on edge of west meadow; originally spotted by a participant and misidentified by me; I quickly noted that the bird had a peaked head and suggested Eastern Wood-Pewee, but something didn't feel right, so I remained tentative, suggesting in the field that this may be an Olive-sided Flycatcher, but that I'd need to study photos later; extensive dark vest, dark head, and large thick bill; no obvious wing bars, just white edging on innermost secondaries; we watched the bird hunt and return to the same snag several times, but eventually the bird flew out of sight
