Observation details
Mostly resting on gravel pathway before final pool, occasionally fluttering around and plunge diving. After cursory research I'm not totally clear on plumages, but at least three plumage types were present. One in juvenal plumage that was banded: white on one leg, black "A4" on other leg. Another banded in first basic (?) with unclear band pattern (see photo). Around sunset they became more active and six flew north together. Slightly smaller than Ruddy Turnstone. When they called (sometimes directly overhead!) it was a two-part call, more consistent with Least than Little Tern. A number of photos. Lifer!
