Media notes
Response to playback. Playback results in a different tempo in the chattering, which is normal under the circumstances. The natural call of this species is much more grouped. The first section of this recording sounds as though two birds were present because playback was used. J.F.M. classifies this bird as H. l. leucocephala. Inyuu is near large sand "luggu" or river (i.e. a dry river bed which would run in the rains). The "luggu" is mentioned in Myles' field notebook, as well as a "thick leaf" bush which the editor thinks may be a Terminalia compretum. Response to playback: Approach. Habitat: River.
