Observation details
It was roosting in the “forbidden zone” on the east side of the sanctuary. Thankfully, while I was there and walking through the sanctuary, no one mobbed the scene and everyone kept their distance. Owl appeared relaxed. I created and edited the attached clip for IG once I got home (without saying where the owl was, of course). I do not know how long the owl persisted at the sanctuary, but it was still there when I left a little over an hour later. What's interesting is that there was a lot of park activity that day, and park folks were setting controlled burns around the sanctuary, but it didn't seem bothered.
