NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 8. Bulk reel: 256 Long drums. (Almost certainly D. lineatus - PAS.) Although close by, this bird was hidden from view. Although they are long drums I file them here because this species is the only one seen in the immediate vicinity of this camp. Note that some of these drums have the rhythm broken. Note: I consider all long drums, broken or not, are very likely of D. lineatus, not withstanding comments under Cut 11. At that time I was just beginning to learn to know these species and was not yet aware that, as I subsequently found on many occasions, the two species may often be found simultaneously on the same tree. Therefore in these first drums, I could easily have confused them. Quality: 1. Level: 5. [Recordist did not indicate type of microphone used. He indicated that he used a parabola but did not specify make/model.]. Other Behaviors: Bill Drumming.
