Observation details
a bright and fresh male with extensive chestnut stripe on flanks, so I don't know its age. Gray face with white eyering suggest either HY or a winter adult in basic plumage. Pointed rectrices might suggest HY? Found midday yesterday by Steve and Linda Sargent. Extremely confiding as it foraged around the boulders that demarcate the Majella parking area, mostly on the ground, poking into crevices, and occasionally atop a rock briefly. It was always on or close to the ground. After 20 minutes it flew into adjacent willow, but within another 5 minutes it was past me foraging around the uppermost rocks. Many photos.
