Forster’s tern left, common tern right.

Observation details

No juveniles, but one in full basic plumage. This one spent ten minutes or more shoulder-to-shoulder with a common tern for excellent comparison. Note the white feathers coming in on the front of the cap on Forster’s as these birds begin to molt back into basic plumage
