Observation details
Frustrating, I never got on the bird in good light, only horrendously backlit. Initially spotted it on the fence to the north in good light, thought it looked very contrasty and heavily marked, and pulled off a little up the road. Unfortunately my camera decided to not focus on it at all, and the only useable shot I got showed a decent amount of white in the tail, getting me excited. I walked along the south fenceline hoping it would flush from the private property, and eventually it popped back up. I got some in focus but still horrendously backlit photos showing (at least) 3 fully white outer retrices. No vocalizations heard.
