Observation details
This bird was on the beach edge, resting with head semi-tucked. I suspect this was a Cackling Goose but didn’t see bill clearly enough. The body seemed much smaller than a Canada and the neck appeared short both when it was resting and the short instant when it raised its head. The white cheek patch was quite narrow, at least the part I could see. The back seemed to have a silvery sheen which does not show well in the attached photo.
