Observation details

This may not be the correct place for me to be recording this observation. I am not sure of this identification. One bird was observed feeding, or attempting to, on a cone on one of the domestically planted pine trees. I did see the bird but did not pay the attention it deserved, thinking it was a small jay. It was a mystery as to why a jay would be feeding around a pine-cone. Merlin reported a "Common Crossbill" at this time. For some reason the "Spectrogram not available". The two photos were taken into the sun so did not come out. Please see "Media".
