Observation details
Heard two chip calls a few minutes after 8:00 am. Quickly located the warbler at the top of a mature oak tree and stayed on it for about 30 minutes. At one point, the bird stayed still on a small branch at the top of an oak tree for about 5 mins. The warbler was frequently feeding along larger branches and not even visible from the ground. Also, it dropped from the top of the oak into the lower branches of a spruce tree and stayed out-of-sight for a few minutes. Only 7 or 8 chip calls heard over the 30 minutes I stayed in the area. Very challenging to locate and keep in view. Since the warbler was first sighted on November 17, it was almost always found along the west side of the animal farm across the channel from the silver windmill. Record photos obtained again today. A nice addition to the Ontario Winter Bird list.
