Observation details
Really beautiful first cycle bird, hanging out on the rocks and the edge of the dam. Thinking kumliens now, but happily got good photos of her in between little upticks in the rain. My first time self-finding this species, with all the corresponding "I'm pretty certain it is but what if it isn't" emotions attached. Very worth not being able to feel my toes. Comparing against photos afterwards, flight feathers look pigmented enough to not have to worry about glaucoides (which is supposed to display a uniform white, though apparently sometimes has a slight gray on wingtips). Secondaries and tail feathers aren't the darker higher contrast to look for on lighter thayeri either, with more intricately patterned tertials and tail feathers.
