Observation details
Seen with 3 others. ID changed from seaside to NESP based on analysis of the throat and malar colors (in Eric's pics, which will probably not make it directly onto EBird...) which lack consistent white. my photos (digibin video screenshots) are probably too low quality to distinguish between white and light-buffy shades with confidence. My images and eric's seem to show a smaller bill than previously assumed. Observed in the field: Very gray back, dull colored for an ammospiza. Grayish orange breast. Back seemed almost slate gray, without back braces of white, but this may not be conclusive. That was the trait that I originally leaned on in presuming Seaside over nelson's, but perhaps that view was simply to short to see the bracing. i cannot claim i had a definitive look at the back/mantle. Lack of darker denser streaking rules out Saltmarsh/Leconte's. https://imgur.com/a/ammospiza-sp-fHinVZa
