Observation details
Observed a migrant American Pipit (Anthus rubescens) showing a slightly stronger-than-average buff supercilium that initially suggested japonicus or Red-throated, but overall plumage confirmed rubescens: breast streaking was broad and smudgy (not fine or crisp), facial pattern lacked the sharp contrast of rarer taxa, mantle showed typical warm brown tones with moderate contrast, and bill shape matched American Pipit structure. Both angles showed consistent rubescens features, making this a normal but cleanly marked Pacific American Pipit.
