Observation details

A very vocal individual flew toward us from the north a little after 9 a.m., giving squeaky calls and rising "zhree" calls, at the same time as Ryan first spotted the Eastern Meadowlark in flight. The siskin apparently landed across the way on Discovery Hill, from which it called for a couple of minutes, but we couldn't spot it in the trees. It took off and circled again before heading south.
