Roosting ~ 10:30, in the shade of a tree overhanging the waterbody. Mud-covered beak - this individual might have been busy in nest building. Nictitating membrane partially visible at the back of the eye.
Observation details
Roosting time! We suddenly discovered each other when I came out of a bush. Didn't immediately fly away as most individuals of this species do, looked at me for a couple of seconds, then around about where to go next - giving me the photo opportunity.
