Observation details
First found and reported by Joe Mallory (from Connecticut) yesterday. This bird was quite confiding, and perched in front of house on rails and small outbuilding. I also saw it enter a spruce tree. Typical Sayornis in shape and size. Underparts pale salmon orange on abdomen with dusty quality across breast; upper parts grayish to brownish gray with black tail. The wings showed pale edges to the tertials and wing coverts. Dipped and swirled tail in typical phoebe manner. Head somewhat peaked to rear.
