Observation details
Prior to eBird implementing the Warbling Vireo split into Eastern (EAWV) and Western (WEWV), I was notified by Steve Mlodinow, lead author of the Birds of the World accounts for EAWV and WEWV (published Oct 2025), that these photos showed EAWV. Steve pointed out that the key combined features of its very long bill with a pale base and a reduced supercilium not extending far behind the eye make WEWV unlikely. Having limited experience parsing the two species, I am relying on his expert opinion. Thanks Steve! Update: primary tip spacing conflicts with EAWV.
