Observation details
Going off of Richard's ID here, certainly appeared to be either a Horned or Eared Grebe. Northern part of West Pond, among the Ruddy Ducks. Small grebe with dainty small bill, not sure head was as peaked as I might have expected, but I will claim no expertise in separating these two species from a distant silhouette. Either way, certainly unexpected for being on the West Pond this time of year. Adding a couple of photos, more of similar quality available.
