Falcon perched on a sandy mound with the freshly killed Tibetan Sand Plover, preparing to feed.
Observation details
We were walking back to conclude the beachcombing session, and there were plovers, sanderlings, and whimbrels wading on the shore actively without minding us. We tried to get some nice close snaps of the birds and started to leave the field immediately, out of nowhere, a bird appeared like a flash and snatched a Tibetan Sand Plover and went to the sky. We all got snaps of the action. Initially, we thought that it is a peregrine falcon. Later, on close verification of the bird, it is felt that it is not peregrine falcon. Later shared the image to Kerala Bird Monitoring group and confirmed as Laggar Falcon. Photograph uploaded
