Observation details
Foraging constantly often in an erratic weaving side to side, and the occasional circle - so in the typical phalarope style. Also wags the rump and tail while foraging with face in the water. Bright white flanks, neck, face, tail (seen in flight), undertail. Grayish contrasting cap and subtle eyeline. Back is gray with wings contrasting in more brown tones. WIPH appear to my eye to have a larger body and more of a boat shape to me that appears to be leaning down at the bow. No camera, sadly, because they were close enough a couple times to have snapped some good pix. I think these are probably continuing birds based on recent reports, and they seemed pretty comfortable when other birds were occasionally flushing. iPhone screengrab attached. I've got iPhone video showing both birds foraging, but I am not able to upload - not sure why.
