Observation details

***mega; second NYS record; found by Andrew Baksh around noon, but then lost for four hours, despite extensive search; re-found by Doug Futuyma about 16:30; a distinctive-looking bird--large and pale-backed, with all the head and breast pattern features clearly shown, a longer slimmer bill than in SEPL, no color in the orbital ring, no webbing between the middle and inner toes, and a distinctive call. Many photos. - See more at: http://birding.aba.org/message.php?mesid=755101&MLID=NY01&MLNM=New%20York#sthash.4acz1QJw.dpuf
