Observation details
Continuing bird found by Naresh Satyen and Larry Schmahl. When we arrived at 11:35 AM the Bar-tailed godwit was in the Salt Pan expanse at 33.966379, -118.445742 with less-than-desirable photo ops. The flock took flight at 12 noon and alit on the north shore of Ballona Creek about 0.3 miles upstream (east) of the pedestrian bridge. Remained there until we left at 1:15 PM. Long bi-colored bill, prominent white supercillium extending well past eye, dark eye line, black legs and bar pattern on tail. See photos.
