Observation details

Huge numbers today, along with many very recent fledges! A good amount of begging fledglings with a few still being fed by adults as the flock grouped in some Phragmites. Despite somehow never finding their colony (a lot is inaccessible around here), it was awesome to finally confirm this species within this block after highly suspecting nesting earlier this spring/summer; some not so great digiscoped photos of the mixed swallow flock and audio of a part of the group as they foraged.

Additional species

  • Song Sparrow (melodia/atlantica) Melospiza melodia melodia/atlantica
  • Common Yellowthroat Geothlypis trichas
  • Red-winged Blackbird Agelaius phoeniceus
