NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 16. Bulk reel: 205. On site @5:20 AM. The first sign of activity was a display @~5:32, bird on west ridge near A (not saved as I was pointed in wrong direction) but slightly to north ~3' later (~5:35AM) a bird flew from ~B of to ~A, but this time actually to spot ~100m north of A and therefore to ~where the display had been. Quality: 1-2. Level: +12. ~1' after that a bird displayed, started from near A, planing, displayed, then planed and finally flew over to somewhere near B. (One soft call is also heard, perhaps by the female.) Quality: 1-2. Level: +12. Then ~5' later the bird gave another display (getting closer to the line of focus in the process), back across the ravine again. (Slight car noise.) This time more calling by the other bird, from near A and presumably the female. Quality: 2. Level: +12. This display occurred some time after I had played twice the previous display. But then I played this last display three times and there was no apparent reaction. Then after ~10' I played back the field tape of display repeatedly and got no apparent reaction up to ~6:10AM. Sound stimulation was (other): playback of display. Response to playback: No response.
