Observation details
A dainty Pterodroma next to the Black-capped Petrels in the slick, this bird came in just before 08:50 while we were on a drift and was last seen following in the slick at about 10:12. Everyone on board had spectacular views and could see well how the size and shape differed from nearby Black-capped Petrels. The cowl, gray upperparts, bold dark margin in the underwing, and narrow pale band on the uppertail all were seen very well as the bird circled the boat numerous times. Many photos were taken to document the sighting.
